Teaching is a craft — I treat it like one.
I'm Sharry, a private tutor based in Durham. For over ten years I've worked with students who arrive uncertain and leave with real confidence — and often, the grade they thought was out of reach.
A little of my story
I trained as an educator with a focus on how students actually learn — not just what they need to memorise. That distinction shapes every lesson I teach.
I've tutored primary children through their first taste of algebra, teenagers through the storm of GCSEs, and sixth-formers into Russell Group and Oxbridge places. What ties it all together is patience, precision and a real belief in the student in front of me.
My practice is deliberately small. I take on a limited number of families each year so that every student receives lessons prepared specifically for them.

A local practice, quietly excellent.
I work with families across Durham, DH7 and the surrounding villages — in person where possible and online where it's easier. Wherever we meet, lessons are calm, structured and prepared with care.
